PNoy offers Ping position to combat crime, corruption
MANILA, Philippines - Senator Panfilo Lacson confirmed Tuesday that President Benigno Aquino has offered him a post in the executive department.
In a text message to reporters, Lacson said: “"He merely sent word about his plan for me to head an agency under the office of the President to combat crime and corruption but no details yet.”
Lacson, a former chief of the Philippine National Police, was earlier rumored to head the Department of the Interior and Local Government. The post was eventually given to Transport Secretary Mar Roxas.
Aquino was in Cavite yesterday to introduce the local candidates of the Liberal Party. Their line-up includes Lacson’s son, Jay, who will run as vice governor of the province.
