De Lima appoints OIC to NBI
MANILA -- Justice Secretary Leila de Lima has appointed an officer-in-charge to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
De Lima said NBI Assistant Director Medardo De Lemos will take over the position vacated by former NBI chief Nonnatus Rojas.
She said De Lemos will take care of the administrative functions left by Rojas but as an OIC, he is not authorized to make decisions on policies.
Rojas filed his courtesy resignation after President Benigno Aquino III said that the bureau has its share of "less trustworthy" officials and agents. - report from Alex Calda, dzMM
