MANILA - Atty. Leni Robredo has formally written the Judicial and Bar Council (JBC) on her withdrawal from being shortlisted for vacant positions in 4 Regional Trial Courts (RTCs) in the Bicol region.

In a one-page letter received by the JBC on Sept. 20, Mrs. Robredo, widow of the late Interior and Local Govt. Sec. Jesse Robredo, instead requested that she be considered for any vacant post in the Quezon City Regional Trial Court (RTC).

"After the death of my husband, I was hoping I would be able to bring my children back to their daily routine as soon as possible and go on with our lives just as we planned. However, the grieving process is not as easy as I thought it would be and it seems that there is now a need for me to transfer my residence to Quezon City where my two elder daughters reside.

"I believe it would be more beneficial to all of us, especially my children, if we would all be together already," Mrs. Robredo said.

The Judicial and Bar Council (JBC) shortlisted Robredo for vacant positions in Ligao, Albay RTC Branch 13; Pili, Camarines Sur RTC Branch 32; Calabanga, Camarines Sur RTC Branch 63; and Daet, Camarines Sur RTC Branch 40.
