Three more trapped miners rescued alive in Itogon

Three more trapped miners were recovered alive by rescuers from a mining tunnel in Itogon, Benguet, Tuesday morning.
 
Rescuers carried Jayson Himmayod out of the tunnel at 8:05 a.m. followed by Robert Buh-way around 9 a.m. and Gary Gano around 10:20 a.m.
 
The three miners were rescued from shaft 114 of the mining tunnel's deepest part, level 700. The recovery of the three brought the number of rescued miners to six.
 
Rescuers continued the retrieval operations for eight more trapped miners. The rescued miners told their rescuers that the others were also in the deeper part of shaft 114.
 
Rescuers recovered three other miners on Monday. The first three were Jose Panio Jr., Antonio Pagulayan and Jerry Monyubda.
 
The latest rescued batch has been brought to the Baguiog City General Hospital, where Panio, Pagulayan and Munyobda were confined.
 
A radio dzMM report said the rescued miners were being counseled at the hospital.
 
Chief Superintendent Eugene Martine, Cordillera police director, said the rescued miners were experiencing post traumatic stress syndrome.
 
Meanwhile, the local government of Benguet gave P10,000 financial assistance each to Panio, Pagulayan and Munyobda.
 
The rescuers re-entered the blocked tunnel 1 a.m. Tuesday, three hours after recovering Munyobda from the mine site.
