A suspect in the November 2007 bombing of the Batasan Pambansa complex in Quezon City has escaped from a jail in Camp Crame, radio dzMM reported Monday.

Initial reports said former Abu Sayyaf operative Ikram Indama was declared missing from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group jail in Camp Crame at 6 a.m.

CIDG chief Raul Castañeda confirmed Indama's disappearance but declined to say if the suspect had escaped. He added that authorities are now looking for Indama.

A report by dzMM reported Noel Alamar said Indama was being groomed to be a witness in the Batasan bombing case when he disappeared.

Indama, a former aide and driver of former Basilan congressman Gerry Salapuddin, was arrested along with two others days after the November 13 bombing at the Batasan complex that killed Basilan Rep. Wahab Akbar.
