MANILA, Philippines - Vice President Jejomar Binay said he also did well during his first 100 days in office, but without the fireworks.

Despite his controversial entry into the Aquino administration, Binay preferred to work in the shadows and still managed to get relatively good results.

Binay said he managed to provide solutions to problems plaguing the housing sector.

As Vice President and housing czar, his first 100 days focused on the evaluation and inventory of systems and processes in the sector, he said.

He said he is now investigating the anomalous transactions between the Home Mutual Development Fund (Pag-IBIG) and housing developer Globe Asiatique.

Pag-IBIG claimed the company had taken out loans for their buyers without their knowledge.

Binay also said his team is now scouting for possible areas of resettlement for those who were displaced from the demolition of shanty towns.

He said he wants to make sure that these resettlement areas can provide the basic needs of tenants, such as water and electricity.

Binay debunked criticisms that he could have “done more” as the second most powerful man in the country.

"Yun pulitika kasama talaga iyan, ok lang, may sapat naman akong karanasan na mabuhay sa ganyang pulitika. Hindi naman nito pinapahina ang loob ko. Tingin ko diyan ay isang hamon upang maipakita sa kanila na kami ay makatotohanan ang aming tinatahak,” he said.
