Palace: No hand in revocation of HK journos' passes
MANILA - Malacanan denied Monday requesting the Indonesian organizers of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meeting in Bali to revoke the accreditation of Hong Kong media covering the event.
APEC hosts revoked the accreditation of some HK reporters for shouting questions at President Aquino during the sidelines of the meeting.
Presidential Spokesperson Edwin Lacierda said the Indonesian hosts may have felt that the media were rude to their guests. Lacierda said it was a question of civility.
At that time, Aquino was conversing with the Peruvian head of state.
"Hindi maganda ginawa nila. Bordering on rudeness na," Lacierda said.
Aquino is attending a leaders meeting of the APEC in Bali, Indonesia.
