MANILA, Philippines – House Deputy Speaker and Liberal Party (LP) spokesman Erin Tañada said he does not harbor any ill-feelings against the LP for not including him in the party’s 2013 senatorial line-up.
Tañada said he already talked with President Aquino regarding his decision not to run a month ago when he did not fare well in pre-election surveys.
He said that while there was an invitation from the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) to join their slate as well as prodding from civil society organizations to run as an independent, he decided to stick it out with the LP.
The lawmaker said he will remain national spokesman of the LP.
He said he is also awaiting announcement from the party’s leadership on whether there will be a reshuffle.
Tañada said he is willing to serve government in another capacity.
