Pacquiao's new advocacy: Breast care centers
MANILA - Sarangani Rep. Emmanuel D. Pacquiao asked his colleagues in Congress to support the passage of House Bill 61 or the Act providing for the establishment of breast care centers in every region nationwide.
Pacquiao's office said this is in connection with the celebration of the Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
He said it is high time for Congress to pass such bill to spearhead the fight against breast cancer, the second most common cancer in the country according to the Department of Health.
He added that the creation of breast care centers in every region would benefit the public, as it would raise awareness on the illness and take the lead in providing affordable services in the prevention and cure of the disease.
The boxing icon-turned-lawmaker has started training for his upcoming fight against Brandon Rios. This, however, did not hinder him to perform his duties as a public servant and to be on top of his legislative works.
Representative Pacquiao vows to fight for the passage of the measure in order to uphold the health and welfare of the Filipino people.
