PNoy to push through with S. Korea trip
MANILA - President Aquino's trip to South Korea is still on despite the devastation wrought by an earthquake in central Philippines.
Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Abigail Valte said the President is scheduled to leave for South Korea on Thursday, 7:40 am, from NAIA Terminal 2.
The President is embarking on a 2-day state visit to South Korea.
Aquino was invited by South Korean President Park Geun-Hye, who just assumed office February this year.
President Park had identified the Philippines as one of 3 countries her country seeks to have close cooperation.
Aside from the state visit, Aquino is also expected to meet with the local Filipino community. Government figures say there are 45,000 Filipinos in South Korea.
