Gibo says no more politics for him
MANILA, Philippines - Former Defense Secretary and defeated presidential bet Gilbert Teodoro reiterated on Tuesday he has no plans to run for any elective position in the 2013 mid-term polls.
“I have no plans to run. I find no fulfilment in it. I have to think of my own family now. I was defense secretary and that’s it for me,” he told abs-cbnNEWS.com during the sidelines of a lecture at Ateneo de Manila University.
He added that he is now busy running his own private investment firm.
A former congressman of Tarlac 1st District, Teodoro was appointed secretary of national defense by President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo on August 2007. He held the post until he chose to run for president in November 2009
He ran under the Lakas-Kampi banner during the 2010 presidential election but lost to his cousin, Liberal Party candidate and now President Benigno Aquino III.
