MANILA, Philippines -- The government is allocating around P44 million for President Benigno Aquino III’s state visits to New Zealand from October 22 to 24 and to Australia from October 24 to 26.

The estimated expenses cover charter lease, accommodation, transportation, food and equipment, among others, of the entire presidential delegation, Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa Jr. said.

Aquino will be leaving at around 9 p.m. on Sunday. In tow are 96 delegates, including: Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert Del Rosario, Finance Secretary Cesar Purisima, Trade Secretary Gregory Domingo, Agriculture Secretary Proceso Alcala, Defense Secretary Voltaire Gazmin, Socio-Economic Planning Secretary Arsenio Balisacan and Presidential Communications Development and Strategic Planning Office Secretary Ramon Carandang.

Philippine Ambassador to New Zealand Virginia Benavidez and Philippine Ambassador to Australia Belen Anota will also be joining them.

The trips are expected to boost political, economic and defense ties each between New Zealand and Australia with the Philippines.
