Estrada gets Marcos backing in presidential bid
MANILA - Former president Joseph Estrada has won the political backing of the family of late strongman Ferdinand Marcos in his fresh bid for the presidency, the candidate's camp said Thursday.
Estrada's party announced a nine-member senatorial ticket for the May 10 presidential election that includes Marcos's son, the legislator Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. and also Estrada's senator son Jose Ejercito.
Both Estrada and Marcos senior were the only two Filipino leaders to have been ousted in bloodless, military-backed popular uprisings.
Marcos was toppled in 1986 after 20 years in power while Estrada followed in 2001, three years into his six-year term. Both men have been accused of plundering state coffers while in power.
Estrada and the family of Marcos senior, who died in exile in Hawaii in 1989, deny the allegations. Estrada was later convicted of plunder but was pardoned by incumbent President Gloria Arroyo.
The Estrada senatorial ticket also includes senate president Juan Ponce Enrile and Danilo Lim, an army general who is in prison and on trial for an alleged coup plot against Arroyo.
Though he is among the frontrunners according to independent surveys, Estrada, a 72 year-old populist and former film star, runs the risk of being disqualified because the constitution sets a single-term presidency.
Estrada argues, however, that this does not apply in his case - as he did not complete his term in office.

Down the trapos
If only the Americans not took the Marcoses from Malacanang during the People Power 1. Just think what could have happen? I'm sure it would be different and the country must have been different as well. Filipinos should have kicked the faces of the Marcoses and the succeeding politicians could have change. After the Marcoses, no justice. Imelda continued bitching the country. The Marcoses, Romualdes, Estradas, and the Arroyos are family related or hell related. Look at what happen now. No shame, delecadisa and full of shit. Philippines cannot move forward while the past is hanging on. Jail the Marcoses, Romualdes, Estradas, Arroyos and Ninoy mastermind. If not this things keep happening with no end in our country because evil are freely and happily demonising our country.
New Zealand make amends in their past with the Maori and the Australian government say sorry to the aboriginals with both compensated. This people (Caucasians) are foreigners to this land but they have feelings and respect to the indigenous people. What feeling does our fellow Filipino leaders to the same race? Is Philippines a really christian country. Do we have love beyond ourselves and family?
Do we deserve this? No, but the same, fence setting. Do nothing.
Go to the streets and tell people not to vote to this devils. Go to your baranggays and look after your local representatives like the Chairman, Tongressman, Mayor and Governors and persuade them not to support the Trapos. Kick his/her ass if you must. Don't we have modern heroes anymore?
Aliens in our midst
Marcoses, Arroyos, and Estradas are actually not filipinos but rather are americans. The americans will be fast to fetch them when they are in trouble like what happen to Ferdinand Marcos.
Some say, Fidel Ramos is a CIA. Beware the americans. They control the King of Saudis surely they want to control the President of the Philippines as pets.

What is happening to our country? Are we that stupid to allow again a grave mistake of putting an incompetent President to rule our country? Estrada has proven his incapability, has been summon to court due to numerous plunder, and here we go again allowing him to ran the highest position in the country? Even Atty. Flaminiano is making fun of himself by saying that he is competent to become a legitimate presidential candidate. Common, guys - we need to leave some respect to our country. Let's rise and realize that we are committing a grave MISTAKE by allowing another mistake to happen. KAWAWA NAMAN ANG ATING INANG BAYAN!
