Not wooing Legarda for VP slot – Lakas-Kampi CMD official
MANILA - Administration party Lakas-Kampi CMD on Sunday denied it is considering Sen. Loren Legarda as the possible running mate of National Defense Secretary Gilbert “Gibo” Teodoro Jr. for the 2010 polls
A senior Lakas Kampi CMD official said that while he considers Legarda, a member of Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC), a competent candidate, he said the administration party is not wooing the senator to become the its vice-presidential candidate for the 2010 polls.
We have not even formally discussed it," said Secretary Gabriel Claudio, Lakas-Kampi CMD secretary-general.
While governors from the League of Provinces are pushing for a “Gibo-Loren” tandem it was not necessarily the position of the administration party.
"We already have a standard bearer, and Loren belongs to NPC," said Claudio. Claudio also said that Legarda is from another party.
On November 12, the administration party will hold its national convention in Cebu Teodoro's running mate will be known
“Ang concern talaga naman is to pick up the winnable candidate. Someone who can help Gibo win the election,” said Reggie Velasco, Lakas-Kampi CMD deputy secretary general in the Balitaan sa Tinapayan forum Sunday.

Former President Fidel Ramos meanwhile scoffed at deposed leader Joseph Estrada's bid to reclaim the presidency.
“Just like in the movies there's a time when you will be the “bida” (star), but sometimes even Hollywood movies are not like that, said Ramos.
Estrada has insisted he is eligible to run again for president saying the constitutional ban for re-election applies only to incumbent presidents.
A Commission on Elections (Comelec) official meanwhile said the poll body will accept Estrada's certificate of candidacy but this does not necessarily mean he would immediately placed on the list of official candidates.
“Merong panahon talaga na bibilangin between end of filing certificate of candidacy and the release of the official list of candidates. It is during that time na dapat pinag-aaralan kung sinong karapat-dapat o may eligibility na maging kandidato,” said James Jimenez, Comelec spokesman. ANC with a report from Rod Macenas, ABS-CBN News
