No lavish party at Napoles mausoleum
Napoleses own more than 200 lots at Heritage Park: report
MANILA (3rd UPDATE) - The family mausoleum of alleged pork barrel scam mastermind Janet Lim Napoles at Heritage Park in Taguig City attracted much attention on All Saints' Day.
In previous years, politicians and well-known personalities attended parties at the mausoleum.
The place, however, was more somber on Friday.
Mass was held at the mausoleum, which was attended by relatives of the controversial businesswoman, a radio dzMM report said.
The mausoleum, which houses the tomb of Napoles' mother, first attracted nationwide attention after a Palace official fetched her there before bringing her to Malacañang to surrender to President Aquino.
Earlier reports said the airconditioned, granite mausoleum also served as a venue for parties of the Napoles family.
Whistleblowers said the family owns more than 50 lawn lots and 4 estate lots at Heritage Park.
A report quoted by dzMM, meanwhile, said the Napoleses have more than 200 lawn lots and 8 estate lots at Heritage Park.
A lawn lot at Heritage Park is worth P120,000. Estate lots, meanwhile, are worth P4.2 million each.
The dzMM report said the lots were purchased to give the Napoles family some privacy during their get-togethers
Mediamen have been barred from going near the mausoleum.
