Bro. Eddie: Poll ratings manipulated by survey, media companies

DUBAI - Jesus is Lord (JIL) Church founder and leader Bro. Eddie Villanueva has accused poll and media organizations of manipulating surveys especially on presidential aspirants for the 2010 national elections.

Villanueva made the statement while in Dubai where he led the 7th anniversary of the JIL movement in the United Arab Emirates. More than 2,000 members of the church attended the event.

Villanueva, in an interview with ABS-CBN Middle East Bureau, said his name was not being included in the list of presidential aspirants in surveys conducted in various provinces.

"Kasi maraming reports kaming tinanggap sa ibat ibang probinsya. Sino ang gusto niyo sa presidentiable na ito, eh wala ‘yong gusto namin, eh bakit hindi niyo ilagay si Bro. Eddie diyan? Sabi daw order ito sa Maynila eh. This is a deliberate conspiracy, sabi ng mga principled journalists sa akin. Deliberate conspiracy para hindi makasama sa rating, para iyong mga tao ma-discourage,” said Villanueva in the interview.

Included in the anniversary celebration’s program was an audio-visual presentation titled “Who is Brother Eddie?”

The focus of the 8-minute presentation was an apparent platform of government for his 2010 presidential run under the Bangon Pilipinas Party.

"Hindi natin pwedeng i-abandon ang pangarap ng lahing Pilipino na magkaroon ng tunay na pagbabago. Kaya patuloy ang laban sa pagbangon ng Pilipinas."

"Ako naman kaya ako nabubuhay para lang gawin ang gusto ng Diyos sa buhay ko... Ang mahalaga sa akin, maging president ako o hindi, ang mahalaga sa akin ay magkaroon ng tunay na pagbabago para mapalaya ang lahing Pilipino sa puwersa ng kadiliman. At ang mga Pilipino, umuwi na sa kani-kanilang pamilya at makaranas ng kasaganaan sa Pilipinas," said Villanueva.

Villanueva admitted he feared that the true results of the 2010 elections would not come out which is the same, he said, as in previous elections.

"Number 1 apprehension, kapag ang media ay hindi na fair at meron nang kinakampihan, talagang hindi magkakaroon ng tagumpay ang katotohanan," said the religious leader.

He still however encouraged overseas Filipino workers to participate and vote in the 2010 elections.

"’Wag nating pabayaan ang last window of opportunity na magkaroon ng matino, matapat na pamahalaan na siyang susi para sa tunay na pagbabago at tunay na pagbangon ng ating bansa, may pag-asa pa. God bless the Philippines," said Villanueva.

Villanueva said he believes that his hopes to be the president of the Philippines is God-ordained. He said he expects that JIL members will help him achieve his mission.

I will vote for him for the 2nd time or nth. And I believe God will raise more people like him until the Philippines will arise.

ABS-CBN Network and GMA7 joined forces with Social Weather Station and Pulse Asia in promoting ng presidential bid of Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino, Jr. and Mar Roxas.

Media companies and survey firms wants to prove and flaunts their political influences. Expect more slanted reports and manipulated surveys favoring the immature, unprepared and inexperience Noynoy.

The people will prove they are wrong.

This issue is really really happening.

Hindi po ako member ng JIL, but pls be kind of the issue that media and surveys have big influence on our votes. This is really true mga kababayan, I think imbes na we make surveys on who will we vote, I think it will be better if we will make the survey on how will we vote? This will estimate us voters on how many percent of us are probably choosing the right, credible candidate and not because of being famous, rich and influencial the candidate is. but because election is a big business for media. Our media personnel are really making this election for their profit rather than to exercise their sweared oaths, for sure because of the influence of their bussinessman boss. But if comelec has really the will for change, they can really make it, ipagbawal nila ang mga advertisement ng candidates sa media, even ang banggitin, pahagingan or purihin ng sino man na nasa himpapawid, mga host sa tv, radio, dyaryo ang names ng candidates, or if may mas magandang solution to prevent influenced voting ng pinoy, but they have to set a special media program in order for us voters to know those candidates, their track record, their platforms, etc. Or if may naiisip pa kayo sanang mas effective way to educate the voters carefully and effectively and not to influence their right of choosing a candidate. Change for us Filipinos. We can do the change. Start the change with ourselves.

Never mixed up politics into religion kahit ba 10 milyon ang miyembro mo ay di dapat akuhin na maging presidente ka na. Lalo na siguro kung ang miyembro mo ay 40 milyon pa baka italaga mo na lang Hari ang iyong sarili imbes na presidente pa.

You have been tried to run president last 2004 Mr. Villanueva? What you got? lahat ba ng member mo binoto ka? Better to stop murmuring in politics siguro maigi na lang mangaral na lang kayo o maging evangelist tulad ni Billy Graham.

God will not allow you or annoint you to be president kasi selfishness yun inaambisyon mo at hindi na niya kalooban yun sinusunod mo kundi katangyagan, makapangyarihan at kayamanan. What is your puspose? Maigi pa nga si Bro. Mike Velarde inadvice ng mga member niya na huwag tumakbo. God cursed you imbes na pagbangon kundi pagbagsak ang mangyari sa Pilipinas.
