MANILA, Philippines - It's all systems go for the implementation of the number-coding scheme for passenger city and provincial buses on Monday, November 15.

Under the number-coding scheme, buses that have license plates ending in 1 and 2 are banned from EDSA on Mondays; 3 and 4  on Tuesdays; 5 and 6 on Wednesdays; 7 and 8  on Thursdays, and 9 and 0 on Fridays.

Provincial buses prohibited to ply their routes will be stopped from entering Metro Manila at all entry points including the North Luzon and South Luzon Expressways.

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said implementing the number-coding scheme on public utility buses will lessen traffic on EDSA. -- report from Zen Hernandez, ABS-CBN News
