MANILA - Ilocos Norte Rep. Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. is open to running as a senatorial candidate of the Liberal Party (LP) under its standard-bearer Sen. Benigno 'Noynoy' Aquino III.

"Bakit hindi?....That will put me in good position. Kaya nga di ko pa sinasabi...kasi umaasa ako na magkakaisa pa ang oposisyon," he said. "Politics is a game of addition. Kung makakadagdag, bakit hindi?"

However, Marcos said he has not received any offers yet from the LP.

"Nag-aantay pako ng tawag sa LP, pero wala. Para ako yung may nagaantay na may date. Thus, far wala pang tawag. But to be a guest candidate, you have to be invited and that hasn't been forthcoming. It's not a great surprise. Sa ngayon, PMP [Puwersa ng Masang Pilipino], NP [Nacionalista Party] at NPC [Nationalist People's Coalition] pa lang ako," he said.

One thing is sure though, Marcos said he will be carrying the banner of his father's old party, the Kilusang Bagong Lipunan (KBL), under the opposition.

"KBL pa rin ako. Pagkanakapagdecide kung sinong ka-grupo, saka dadalhin ko buong KBL to coalesce with whichever party. Sa ngayon, I'm a guest candidate in 3 opposition parties. Guest candidate with NP, NPC, and kay President Erap. So ngayon, sa palagay ko maraming magsasabi, guest ka na sa lahat. Pero di naman praktikal yun, kailangan makapili . You have to have group na lagi kang kasama. So Today is the 17th [of November]. Siguradong oposisyon. I will be in the opposition," Marcos said. -- report from RG Cruz, ABS-CBN News
