No negative campaigning for Gibo

MANILA – Administration party presidential candidate Gilbert “Gibo” Teodoro Jr. will not engage in mudslinging or dirty tricks during the campaign period for the 2010 elections.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News Channel’s The Big Picture on Thursday, Teodoro told anchor Ricky Carandang that not resorting to negative campaigning against other contenders will provide more political capital if he wins.

“If we are able to keep the conduct of the campaign on a level which will not degenerate into hurt or a division, that is a very important thing we will achieve.

He has the end in mind: “After you win, you will have to lead. You have to get people positive and upbeat to follow you.”

Typical dirty tricks during political campaigns include the leaking of damaging, or even false, information that cast serious doubts on their opponents’ qualifications or abilities. Most often, negative campaigns involve attacking the rivals’ personality, record, or opinion.

A negative campaign, he explained, would divide political leaders and the people in general, further complicating the task of governing a country already beset with social, economic, and political difficulties.

“I believe that that’s not the way to go. That is not the way my administration will go,” he stressed.

“We need hope to prime them for a possible growth next year,” he added.

He said that while he cannot dictate on his partymates at the Lakas-Kampi-CMD on their campaign style, “They should take off from my own view of things.”

To discourage them, his style will be to “set an example.”

The former defense secretary stressed that the political sphere “does not have a law enforcement agenda, but a motivating agenda.”

He believes that the presidential fora, where he is a staple and are organized by various groups, are “positive tools that we are developing to have that professional atmosphere.”

SECRETS

Gibo is hiding something serious for the people for their consideration of his candidacy. He is sounding the alarm to other presidential candidates ala Joker Arroyo;s "don't mess with my f#(<$ng wife."

NO SECRET FOR PUBLIC SERVICE

REAL CONNECTED- COJUANGCO/AQUINO-MACAPAGAL/ARROYO

FAMILY CONNECTION- COJUANGCO/AQUINO-MACAPAGAL/ARROYO

We the Filipino voters need to know who's the real Noynoy Cojuangco Aquino and Gibo Cojuangco Teodoro. If Bayani Fernando win,he will investigate the corrruptions and he will give justices to all Hacienda Luisita victims.
The Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway was a flagship project of President Gloria Arroyo, together with the Cojuangco-Aquino family, owners of Hacienda Luisita, and the Lopez family through First Philippine Infrastructure Inc..(CAMA) REAL FAMILY TIED OF COJUANGCO-AQUINO MACAPAGAL-ARROYO.

The Japan Bank and International Corp. funded the project through a special yen loan amounting to P21.393 billion. The state-owned Bases Conversion Development Authority (BCDA) provided P4 billion as counterpart.

Remulla said the issue affects taxpayers because of the loan component. “It's a heavy burden for taxpayers.”

We the FILIPINO people will pay for their socialized loan. These budget are equivalent of all budget for the whole country.Because of Noynoy/Cojuangco- ARROYO,the arroyo administrations put all the money in one project, and the budget supposed to be for the whole country.

This is an apponent that i can respect

Sir Gibo,

Sana ituloy tuloy nyo po ang positive campaign... Sana po sumunod din sa inyo ang inyong mga tao sa campo nyo.

BTW... I dont agree with you regarding sa pag investigate sa mga katiwalian ni GMA... you can direct the agencies under the executive branch to release and be transparent sa lahat ng investigation regarding sa mga tainted projects.

You can ask the NBI (Department of Justice) who i believe is capable of forensic accounting to trace every centavos. You can direct AMLAC (Department of Finance) to reveal account numbers that have exceeded the US$10K transactions.

Hiding behind the separation of the three branches of government is a lame excuse.

Regarding EO 464, while you are correct in saying that even the constitution protects information sensitive to national security it does not however bar a co-equal branch of government from investigating or being informed through its oversight function to investigate agencies under the executive branch. There is an executive (close door) session that can be called for this purpose.

Looking for loopholes to hide the excesses of any of the branches of government is not only criminal its a betrayal of public trust.
