PHNOM PENH, Cambodia—President Aquino will name his chosen candidate for Supreme Court justice a day ahead of the November 22 deadline.

He said he will make the decision on November 21, a day after returning from Cambodia, where he attended the 21st Association of Southeast Asian Nations Summit.

The President said he wants to make a decision early so he won’t be accused of delaying it.

“Para sigurado, 21 nandoon na. Siguro naman, wala nang kaduda-duda doon,” he said.

Asked if one of his peace negotiators, Marvic Leonen, has an edge over other candidates, President Aquino answered, “Abangan ang susunod na kabanata.”
