DOJ forms new panel to help Aman Futures probe
MANILA, Philippines - Justice Secretary Leila De Lima has created a new panel of prosecutors to assist the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in its investigation into the P12-billion pyramiding scam involving Aman Futures Group Philippines, Inc.
The panel, created by virtue of Department Order (DO) No. 989, dated Nov. 20, is composed of the following:
- Senior Asst. State Prosecutor (SASP) Philip Kimpo, chairman
- SASP Edwin Dayog
- Asst. State Prosecutor (ASP) Nolibien Quiambao
- ASP Hjalmar Quintana
- ASP Diosdado Solidum, Jr.
- ASP Michael Aragon Vito Cruz
- ASP Gerard Gaerlan
- ASP Florencio Dela Cruz
- ASP John Benedict Medina
- ASP Ma. Kristhina Paat-Salumbides
The panel shall assist the NBI in the "collection of evidence, case evaluation and build-up, prior to their referral to the Special Panel of Prosecutors" tasked to handle the preliminary investigation of the complaints against Aman Futures.
Aman Futures has allegedly victimized some 15,000 people in the Visayas and Mindanao.
