Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita on Sunday paid a visit to First Gentleman Jose Miguel "Mike" Arroyo while he is recuperating at St. Luke's Medical Center.

Ermita was sighted by media reporters Sunday morning as they were stationed at the hospital lobby, along with presidential sons Pampanga Rep. Juan Miguel "Mikey" Arroyo, and Camarines Sur Rep. Diosdado Ignacio "Dato" Arroyo.

Arroyo had "intense stomach pain" Friday evening on board a Philippine Airlines (PAL) flight to Peru for the APEC leaders' meeting. His ailment forced the chartered PAL flight to make an emergency stop over to Osaka, Japan.  

According to his personal doctors, Arroyo developed severe abdominal pain and episodes of vomiting. Dr. Romeo Carino said that none of the medical workups indicated that the abdominal pains were related to Arroyo's dissecting aortic aneurysm that led to an angioplasty in April 2007.

Dr. Juliet Cervantes, meanwhile, said that the first gentleman would probably stay at St. Luke's Medical Center either until Sunday afternoon or Monday.--With a report from Henry Atuelan, dzMM
