MANILA - Vice-President Noli de Castro's survey ratings are slipping, according to the latest Pulse Asia survey conducted October 22 to 30.

De Castro's approval ratings dropped from 55% to 43%.

"Among the remaining top national government officials, Vice-President Noli de Castro continues to score the highest approval rating. But this time around, he fails to get the nod of majority of Filipinos, earning no more than a big plurality approval rating (43%) in the current survey," Pulse Asia said.

"This approval rating is significantly lower (12 percentage points) than what he obtained in August 2009," the survey firm added.

His disapproval ratings likewise increased by a big margin--from 16% in August to 27% in October.

"There is an 11 percentage point increase in Vice-President De Castro's disapproval ratings," Pulse Asia noted.

The Pulse Asia survey has a margin of error of plus/minus 2%. It was an Ulat ng Bayan survey, which the polling firm does on its own "without any party singularly commissioning the research effort."

De Castro has yet to announced his plans for the 2010 elections.
