MANILA, Philippines – Ballsy Aquino-Cruz, eldest sister of President Benigno Aquino III, said that she is still hopeful that his brother and celebrity stylist Liz Uy will remain friends even though they have reportedly stopped dating.

“She's [Liz] such a nice person, very nice. And maski hindi sila magkatuluyan, I hope maging malapit pa rin siya sa pamilya, tutulungan pa rin niya sa pags-style si Kris at si Noy," Aquino-Cruz said.

Sources close to Aquino and Uy told ABS-CBN News on Thursday the president has not been successful in winning the celebrity stylist’s heart--at least, not yet.

The president’s sister admitted, however, that it is only through media reports that she gets updates on his brother’s love life.

She said the last time she was able to talk to the president was Thursday (Nov. 25) before his brother left for Baguio.

She also said that she does not ask his brother about his love life since she knows the president has other things on his mind. 

Aquino-Cruz said that if the reports about the botched romance are true, she still expects Uy to be the president’s stylist. She said she knows Uy to be professional.

Meanwhile, the eldest Aquino sister advised her brother and their youngest sibling, Kris Aquino, to just be patient with respect to affairs of the heart. She said she wished that the two would be able to find someone who will understand them.

"Ang tanda na niya [Noynoy ], I mean, at 50, for a single person, 50 is medyo may edad na, marami nang iniisip, 'pag ganoon baka hindi na mag-asawa,” she said.

Kris has filed for nullification of her marriage with star basketball player James Yap. The case is still pending in court.

Cruz attended the inauguration of “Yellow Sale” on Friday (Nov. 26), a project of the Ninoy and Cory Aquino Foundation.

The bazaar aims to raise funds to be able to help various beneficiaries like the youth and women this Christmas. It is also part of the celebration of the late Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino’s 78th birthday on Saturday. From a report of Danica Mercene, ABS-CBN News
