(UPDATE 2) Arroyo to bare 2010 plans today: report
MANILA - An election lawyer said President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo will reveal on Friday whether she will run for another elective post in the May 10, 2010 polls.
In an interview with radio dzMM Malacañang reporter Ruby Tayag, election lawyer Romulo Macalintal said Mrs. Arroyo will decide today her plans for 2010.
Macalintal said Mrs. Arroyo may decide to run for a local post in 2010 or may not run at all. He said Mrs. Arroyo does not need to resign if she decides to run.
He added that Mrs. Arroyo is not prohibited by law to run for any elective post other than for president.
He said the President may run for vice-president, governor of Pampanga, or representative of the province's 2nd district, the seat currently held by her son, Juan Miguel 'Mikey' Arroyo.
Macalintal said that if she decides to run, Mrs. Arroyo may file her certificate of candidacy (COC) on December 1, the last day of filing of COCs.
He said Mrs. Arroyo need not go to the Comelec office in Pampanga to file her COC. She can authorize her representative to file it on her behalf.
Macalintal made the announcement as a group of people from Pampanga's 2nd district trooped to Malacañang.
The Pampanga residents, led by political leaders from the 2nd district, presented to Mrs. Arroyo a manifesto urging her to run for congresswoman.

The supporters were heard shouting "GMA, GMA, GMA!"
Minutes later, Mrs. Arroyo emerged from the Palace and met her supporters, who continued to shout her initials, urging her to run.
"Ang inyong ama na si Congressman Dadong ay kinatawan ng Pampanga bago naging pangulo ng bansa. Malaki ang karangalan namin na ang kanyang anak na si Gloria, matapos maging pangulo ay magiging kinatawan namin sa Kongreso upang doon ipagpatuloy ang kanyang mga nasimulan. 'Pag nagkagayun ay magiging mapalad ang mga taga-Pampanga," the leaders said in the manifesto.
Mrs. Arroyo did not make any promises to her supporters who were at the Palace. She has summoned Macalintal to Malacañang to talk about her plans for 2010.
Arroyo's critics have warned that she will run for a seat in Congress and then push, with the support of the Lakas-Kampi-CMD, for a shift to a parliamentary system of government.
This will give her another shot at becoming head of government after being in power for over 9 years, the second-longest reign after the late President Ferdinand Marcos. Marcos was in power from 1965 to 1986.

Like Marcos, now the Macapacal-Arroyos Filipinos will remember you in our history for hated most.
Now we Filipinos can make contribution to reject this Arroyos by junking and not voting them in 2010. All her allies, supported candidates both local and national must be booted out by junking them in this coming election.
