Palace: Oscar Cruz should read his Bible more

MANILA, Philippines - Malacañang is not taking up the reported challenge of retired archbishop Oscar Cruz to have the Mendiola and Hacienda Luisita massacres reinvestigated.
Presidential Spokesman Edwin Lacierda said the issue is a rehash of Cruz's statements during the 2010 presidential campaign.
“Panahon pa ng kampanya, inuulit na naman ni Bishop Cruz ang mga paratang noong panahon ng kampanya. At sinabi na po namin na he was already cleared by the Ombudsman,” Lacierda said.
“I would suggest to Bishop Cruz to be more prudent in his statement. He should read his Bible more often rather than…” he added before trailing off.
