37 PAL, AirPhil Express flights cancelled amid 'Pablo'

MANILA, Philippines - A total of 37 Philippine Airlines (PAL) and AirPhil Express flights for Tuesday have been cancelled because of Typhoon Pablo's threat in the Visayas and Mindanao, the airlines announced Monday night.

In an advisory, PAL said it is cancelling two flights to Davao to avoid strong wings.

It will also upgrade the aircraft of 2 other flights to Davao to accommodate passengers of the cancelled flights.

"Pending succeeding weather bulletins, all other PAL flights will remain normal," the nation's flag carrier said.

Its sister company, AirPhil Express, is cancelling a total of 35 flights, including a flight going to Hong Kong from Cebu.

The affected AirPhil Express flights originating from Manila are bound for Caticlan (all 10 flights scheduled for December 4), Cagayan de Oro (3 flights), Dumaguete (2 flights), and one flight each to Ozamiz, Butuan, Cotabato, Dipolog and Surigao.

Meanwhile, cancelled AirPhil Express flights originating from Cebu are bound for Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Davao, General Santos, Iloilo, Kalibo, Legazpi, Ozamiz, Pagadian, Puerto Princesa, Surigao, Tacloban and Zamboanga.

It also cancelled Caticlan-Cebu and Cebu-Hong Kong flights.

"Affected passengers of PAL and AirPhil Express are advised to call the respective Reservations for rebooking assistance – 855-8888 for PAL, 855-9000 for AirPhil Express," the company said.

PAL and AirPhil Express said they will issue additional flight advisories to passengers.
