MANILA, Philippines – President Benigno Aquino III has not yet scheduled a visit to the areas that were ravaged by tropical cyclone "Pablo," Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas said on Thursday.

Aquino opted to leave the overseeing of the relief operations to his Cabinet members so that the attention of rescuers and local officials would not be shifted to him, Roxas said.

Nonetheless, Roxas said Aquino remains on top of the situation.

Roxas flew to Compostela Valley and Davao Oriental on Wednesday to oversee relief efforts in the two provinces' ravaged towns. He is set to visit other areas in Visayas and Mindanao today.

Vice President Jejomar Binay, meanwhile, arrived Thursday morning in New Bataan, Compostela Valley where most of the fatalities were recorded and hundreds still missing.
