Gov't mulls bringing all Ampatuans to Manila
MANILA - Justice Secretary Agnes Devanadera on Tuesday said authorities are studying a proposal to bring all the arrested members of the Ampatuan clan to Manila.
Devanadera said police and military troops have doubled efforts to gather more evidence for the rebellion cases that would be filed against the Ampatuans and their supporters.
She said Tuesday is the last day of filing of charges in court against those suspected of planning rebellion against the government. She said the rebellion charges will be filed before the regional trial court in Cotabato.
The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Monday submitted before the Department of Justice information on the rebellion charges that would be filed against 24 members of the Ampatuan clan, including its patriarch, Maguindanao Gov. Andal Ampatuan Sr.
Among those recommended to be included in the charge sheet for rebellion are Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) Gov. Zaldy Ampatuan, acting Maguindanao Gov. Sajid Islam Ampatuan, Maguindanao Vice-Gov. Al Hadji Akmad Ampatuan and Shariff Aguak Mayor Anwar Ampatuan.
The others recommended to be charged for rebellion are:
* Kusain Akmad Sakilan
* Jovel Vista Lopez
* Romy Gimba Mamay
* Sammy Duyo Villanueva
* Ibrahim Abdulkadir
* Samil Mindo
* Goldo Ampatuan
* Amaikugao Dalgan
* Billy Gabriel Jr.
* Abdullah Ampatuan
* Morieb Ibrahim
* Umpa Yarya
* Manding Abdulkadir
* Dekay Ulama
* Kapid Cabaya
* Koka Managilid
* Sammy Macabuat
* Duca Amban
* Akmad Ulilisen
Ampatuan Sr. has been taken into full military custody on Sunday evening and brought to a military camp in Davao City, while the ARMM governor was detained at the police's Criminal Investigation and Detection Group headquarters in General Santos City.
The other key members of the Ampatuan clan have been detained at the headquarters of the Philippine Army's 6th Infantry Division in Cotabato province.
Datu Unsay Mayor Andal Ampatuan Jr., the alleged mastermind of the Maguindanao massacre that left 57 innocent civilians dead, has been charged with 25 counts of murder and detained at the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) main office in Manila.
Devanadera said the Ampatuan patriarch is already undergoing preliminary investigation for the possible filing of murder charges in connection with the Maguindanao massacre.
Aside from the 24 charged with rebellion, joint police and military teams also arrested 15 other people allegedly involved in the rebellion.
More than 80 people have been arrested by security forces since the imposition of martial law in the province.
The military said that aside from the arrests, they have recovered more than 900 pieces of firearms, including mortars, sniper rifles, machine guns and anti-tank equipment; at least 450,000 rounds of assorted bullets, armoured vehicles, and police cars, with dried blood stains.
It said that the recovered firearms are only 20 percent of the total arsenal of the Ampatuan clan.
The military said the Ampatuan clan's private army, including members of the Civilian Volunteer Organization and Special Cafgu Active Auxiliary (SCAA), comprises around 2,000 individuals.
The alleged armed followers of the clan have fled to marshlands and forested areas of Maguindanao, the military said.

STOP IT
STOP THE NONESENSE:
ANG POINT dito is to get all the suspects out of the area and from their homes. Tapos na ang debate and tapos na nag martial law. Ba't palagi kayong pasaway? Leave it alone and let the families of the victims feel vindicated sa progress ng nagawa sa gobyerno. Wag nyung husgahan ang ating pamahala-an kasi hindi natin alam kung ano ang end point nito. Just trust our governmen and believe na they are doing their best to serve justice sa mga nasawi. --
Rebellion vs Mass Murder
Rebellion? Ano kinalaman nito sa mass murder? May Civil War ba sa Maguindanao?
Ampatuan
Not in Manila but in H E L L
Do not bring the Ampatuans in Manila, but directly imprison them in Iwahag or in some isolated penal colony. Treat them like lepers and if possible declare them as enemies of the state and people.
They don't deserve any amount of mercy, show them the kind of mercy that they gave to the massacred victims. Bury them alive!!! Erase them from history!!!
Weapons too high-powered to be from government?
Philippine Star Editorial today:
- "High-powered weapons – the types that ordinary soldiers cannot hope to receive from the government – were also found in the numerous caches buried within or near the compounds of the Ampatuans."
- "Where did the weapons come from, and how did they enter the country? Surely not all of those weapons and ammunition came from the arsenal of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Department of National Defense, though most of the crates of ammunition bore 'DND' markings."

Important that we don't jump to conclusions about where weapons came from, just because of the labels. If there's more solid proof, that's the time to accept it.
More Criminals in hiding
More criminals involved in the maguindanao massacre are hiding in Tran, Lebak Sultan Kudarat. Saudi Mokamad, et.al. were now in Tran, Lebak Sultan Kudarat, because army operations near the coastal villages of Lagitan and Turugan in the same municipality forced them to go in Tran (nearby sitio) which is away from the coast.. For AFP, if you want to catch them, you have to act now...
we want action
kudos to PGMA for her political will....dont mind the detractors who have crab mentality and the other left wing communist lawmakers...puro kayo reklamo..kahit sino maging presidente ..ibabaon ninyo
