Senate will be fair in Corona trial – Enrile
MANILA, Philippines - Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile assured the public the Senate will be fair in the trial against Chief Justice Renato Corona.
Senators will sit as judges in the trial.
"I assure you that we will be fair and just in hearing the impeachment [articles]," said Enrile before the end of his speech at the Public Attorney’s Office event in Manila Hotel on Tuesday.
This is the first time that a Chief Justice will be tried before the halls of the Senate.
Former Chief Justice Hilario Davide Jr. was also impeached by the House of Representatives, but the articles of impeachment were never transmitted to the Senate. The Supreme Court then invalidated the proceedings because these were based on a second complaint against Davide in one year. – from a report by Jorge Cariño, ABS-CBN News

IT IS TRIAL TO WHICH SENATORS BELONG TO ABNOY POLITICAL PARTY HAS VOTED ALREADY. AND OF COURSE THESE ABNOY SENATORS HAVE DECIDED ALREADY TO IMPEACH CHIEF JUSTICE CORONA.
“SURE, THE START OF THE IMPEACHMENT PROCESS WILL BE ALSO THE START OF THE CAMPAIGN PERIOD FOR 2013 ELECTION.
