The real work for RH Bill begins once it is signed into law.

Senator Pia Cayetano, the principal author of the Senate version of the bill, said the lawmaking process may be coming to an end but the process of educating women on their health is just starting.

Cayetano insists the bill is for poor women and not for the middle class.

“There will be effect when women understand na karapatan ko pala ito. Pwede kong planuhin ang pamilya ko. Pwede akong pumunta sa health center and I can get advice on what would be the best way to go about planning my family. I already have 10 kids siguro pwede na akong magpa-ligate...or dalawa pa lang anak ko I want to get pregnant five years from now wag na muna ligation. Ay OFW pala ang asawa ko. Bakit ako magpi-pills ng long term, iinom ako araw-araw, nandito lang naman ang asawa ko for one month. Baka condom ang mas ok sa amin,” Cayetano said.

Cayetano added, “they can get these kind of advice that you and I take for granted...advice that my colleagues in the Senate, Sen. Miriam and Sen. Loren, don't need because we have the best best OB Gynecologists in the world. And it offends me when men, and male legislators, argue against this bill knowing that their wives can go to the best OB Gynecologist”. Mornings@ANC, December 18, 2012
