Nancy: No amount of explanation would satisfy our haters
MANILA - Senator Nancy Binay came to the defense of her brother, Makati Mayor Junjun Binay, saying “there are people bent on putting the name of my family in bad light.”
She said this will be the last time she will talk about the incident in Dasmarinas Village because everything has been clarified with all parties involved.
The Philippine Daily Inquirer reported today that the mayor ordered the arrest of three security guards there. Citing a source, the newspaper said the guards prevented the younger Binay’s convoy from using the Banyan Road gate as an exit.
The mayor supposedly came from the house of the senator.
He already denied having the guards arrested. The owner of the security agency also backed Binay’s statements.
For her part, the senator said: “What was reported in the Inquirer had glaring biases and bends. The video does not capture what really happened.”
She thanked those who did not believe in a “malicious story.”
On the other hand, “No amount of explanation would satisfy those who have never-ending dislike for our family,” she said.
She said she can only pray for peace and reconciliation instead of “kindling hate.”
“This is a season of giving and forgiving. Time to move on,” she said.
