Disaster-hit Japan also sends aid to Philippines
MANILA, Philippines - The government of Japan has sent an emergency assistance of P14 million (Y25 million) for the victims of tropical storm Sendong.
In a statement, the embassy of Japan said this is “aimed at alleviating the difficulties of the victims, the assistance comes in the form of relief goods such as water tanks, generators, and other relief items.”
Japanese Foreign Minister Koichiro Gemba already sent his condolences and sympathy last Sunday for those who lost loved ones in the tragedy.
Japan said it remains committed in assisting the government’s disaster management efforts.
The country itself was badly hit by an earthquake and tsunami in March.
