MANILA, Philippines - President Benigno Aquino on Monday took another potshot at the judiciary, saying the "learning curve is over."

In a statement posted on the President's Facebook and Twitter accounts, Aquino said systems are now in place "that should correct the issue with regards to making sure that corruption is being combated and more resolutions on faster reforms in the judiciary."

"A lot of our problems had to deal with various courts this past year," he added.

Aquino said he is hoping that the country is able to cope with the global economic slowdown as it welcomes 2012.

"Number one, we’re hoping that we will be able to weather the current economic storm; that we will do a lot better than what we did this year," he said.

He also urged the public to avoid using firecrackers in greeting the new year.

Aquino said the Department of Health has launched an "Aksyon: Paputok Injury Reduction" (APIR) campaign to limit the number of people getting injured by firecrackers as well as homes razed by fires.
