MANILA, Philippines - Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Philippines Inc., Petron Corp. and Phoenix Petroleum Philippines announced on Monday similar increases in pump prices of their petroleum products to be implemented Tuesday.

Roberto Kanapi, Pilipinas Shell vice president for communications, in a text message said that prices of gasoline from the oil company would increase P1.00 per liter while prices of diesel and kerosene would increase by P0.50 per liter.

Kanapi said the price hikes, which are “to reflect the increase in international product prices”, would be effective 12:01 a.m. Tuesday.

Petron said it will increase gasoline prices by P1.00 per liter (Value-Added Tax included) and diesel and kerosene prices by P0.50 per liter effective 6 a.m. Tuesday.

Phoenix, meanwhile, said it will also implement its increase in pump prices 6 a.m. Tuesday. It said the price increase would also be P1.00 per liter for gasoline and P0.50 per liter for diesel.

The advisory from Phoenix said the increase was “to reflect the increase in the prices of finished petroleum products in the world market.”

Other oil companies are expected to implement similar price hikes but they have yet to issue their announcements.
