MANILA — Police authorities are now gathering CCTV footage that may have recorded the shooting incident that killed 2 people and wounded 10 in Barangay 118, Caloocan City on Tuesday night.

Senior Supt. Bernard Tambaoan, chief of Caloocan City Police, said 2 security cameras installed in a house near the crime scene might have caught the faces of suspects Noriel and Jeff-Jeff Padilla.

Tambaoan said they already have pieces of information that might lead them to the gunmen.

In a shooting spree on New Year's Eve, the Padilla brothers, armed with a caliber .45 pistol and a shotgun, killed Renato Bautista and Jovito Alnas.

The persons injured in the shooting were identified as:

  • Kenneth Lozada
  • Aberson Lozada
  • Camille Cacatian (5 years old)
  • Annalie Villaflores
  • Anadel Villaflores
  • Alvin Calundacion
  • China Velasquez
  • Renz Piolo Esperida
  • Allan Dorado,
  • Iris Varrosa (8 years old).

Authorities said revenge is a possible motive since a cousin of the suspects was also killed in a shooting incident last February.

Tambaoan added that the fatalities were allegedly seen hanging around with the person who killed the suspects' cousin before the incident.

Meanwhile, Tambaoan admitted that the response from the Caloocan City Police took time, but said only a concerned citizen informed them about the incident through hotline 117, approximately 25 minutes after the shooting.

He said relatives of the victims also didn’t know what to do since barangay officials weren’t around that night even if the crime took place near the barangay hall.
