MANILA, Philippines - A massive manhunt has been ordered for the arrest of a policeman who has been accused of raping a woman inside the Manila Police District (MPD) headquarters.

Chief Superintendent Roberto Rongavilla, MPD chief, said he has ordered a massive manhunt against Police Officer 3 Antonio Bautista Jr.

"Hanggang ngayon ay subject ng manhunt," Rongavilla told ABS-CBN's morning show, "Umagang Kay Ganda."

Rongavilla said Bautista has been sacked as member of the MPD's intelligence division and charges of rape and robbery have been filed against him.

He added that the MPD is also preparing documents for the filing of administrative cases against Bautista.

"Sana lumutang ka na para patunayan mo kung may kasalanan ka o wala kang kasalanan," Rongavilla asked Bautista, adding that the policeman is not only putting his career in jeopardy, but also the whole police organization.

Complainant "Vanessa" said she and her husband were in Carriedo, Manila at 5:30 a.m. on December 31 when Bautista arrested them for vagrancy.

Bautista took them to MPD headquarters along United Nations Avenue for processing and ordered Vanessa to enter the office of the MPD Integrity Task Force, a special unit that investigates police misdemeanors.

Vanessa said Bautista raped her on the desk of the unit's head, Senior Inspector Ronald Andres, and even took P4,000 from her wallet.

Rongavilla said he immediately placed Bautista on floating status after the woman filed the complaint.

He said Bautista has gone AWOL (absence without leave).
