Man dives to his death in Pasig City

A mentally deranged man died after diving into a river in Pasig City, before dawn Thursday.
Residents of Barangay Maybunga said they saw Mario Go, 30, kneel down and pray before jumping off from the Javier Bridge and plunged to his death around 2 a.m.
Go's mother, Fe Ramirez, ran to her son but, she was too late. She said it was not the first time the victim committed suicide.
"Sinubukan na niyang magpakamatay dati. Nagbaril sa ulo pero nabuhay. Sabi niya nahihirapan na raw siya sa sakit niya (He had tried to kill himself before. He shot himself in the head, but survived. He said it's because of his illness)," Ramirez told ABS-CBN News.
The mother said her son can't swim. The victim drowned a few minutes after taking the deadly plunge.
Pasig City rescue team members recovered Go's body after scouring the river for hours.
