MANILA, Philippines – Individuals caught in possession with a copy of the sex video of slain actor Ramgen Revilla and his girlfriend Janelle Manahan may face imprisonment, warned the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) of the Philippine National Police (PNP).

The CIDG said on Tuesday that those caught with a copy of the video may face charges of voyeurism, which is punishable by up to 5 years in jail.

Manahan, who is a witness to the killing of Revilla on October 28, sought help from the Anti-Transnational and Cybercrime Unit of the CIDG to determine who is behind the uploading of the video on the internet.

Manahan’s lawyers also appealed for help from Revilla’s half-brother Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla, who is a co-author of the Anti-Voyeurism Law of 2009, which punishes the unauthorized and unconsented publication and uploading of videos.

"Sobrang pambababoy ang ginagawa nila sa kapatid ko. Karumal-dumal na nga ang pagkamatay ni Ramgen, sinisira pa nila ang pagkatao," the senator earlier said in a statement.

Manahan’s camp believes that Revilla’s siblings have something to do with the video’s uploading, saying that they are the only ones who have access to their brother’s personal computer.

The sex video shows Manahan and Revilla having sexual intercourse in a bathroom, with Revilla using a digital camera to shoot the act.

One of Manahan's lawyers, Argee Guevarra, confirmed over the weekend that the video leaked on YouTube is authentic.

Meanwhile, Guevarra alleged that Revilla’s sister Ramona “Mara” Bautista may be behind the leaked video after tracing the IP address of the uploader.

“Batay sa aming pagmo-monitor, noong unang pumutok ang sex video at in-upload ito sa YouTube, ang mga IP addresses diumano ay galing pang Europa. Alam naman natin kung sino sa pamilya Bautista ang nasa Europa ngayon. Walang iba kung hindi si Mara Bautista,” Guevarra said on Sunday. -- Report from Zyann Ambrosio, ABS-CBN News
