MANILA, Philippines -- The seven-year-old stray bullet victim Stephanie Nicole Ella was laid to rest in Bulacan Saturday afternoon.

Family and friends of Ella brought her remains to her final resting place at Sanctuario de Paz in Norzagaray, Bulacan past 1 p.m.

Ella's loved ones turned emotional as they bid goodbye to a young life lost in a tragic death.

Her family, who wore shirts bearing a print of Ella's face before and after she was hit by a stray bullet, and a "Justice for Stephanie Ella” print, first held a funeral procession from their house in Malaria, Caloocan City at around 11 a.m.

It was joined by Ella's relatives, neighbors and friends, who offered pink flowers for the seven-year-old stray bullet victim.

The parents of Ella, meanwhile, is once again appealing to those who fired their guns during the New Year celebrations to surrender to police authorities.

Ella slipped into a coma after she was hit by a stray bullet in the head while watching fireworks outside her home in Caloocan on New Year's Eve.

She died last January 2 after suffering 8 cardiac arrests. -- Report from Dexter Ganibe, dzMM
