Suspects in Robinsons Magnolia attack nabbed
MANILA, Philippines – The two suspected members of "Donut Gang" who got involved in a theft incident at the parking area of Robinsons Magnolia in Quezon City have been arrested.
Sr. Supt. Richard Albano, Quezon City Police District director, identified the suspects as Nomer Pacheco and Richard Fontanilla.
Albano said Pacheco was a former policeman who went AWOL in 2006.
The suspects were arrested based on the documents and driver's license found inside the Mitsubishi Adventure abandoned by the suspects at the scene.
"[Nahuli] ito ng mga operatives natin dahil sa naiwan na license at plate number ng sasakyan. Na-trace ng mga tao natin ang address, ang nag-pahiram, sinong humiram," Albano told dzMM.
Last January 30, two suspects were caught taking the spare tire of Elbert Alvarez's Ford Ranger and loaded it into their vehicle.
Alvarez immediately alerted the mall's security personnel, resulting in a shootout.
The two suspects fled on foot. They abandoned their vehicle due to a flat tire.
The Robinsons Magnolia incident occurred days after the daring robbery of a jewelry store in SM Megamall. – with a report from Johnson Manabat, dzMM
