MANILA, Philippines - The Bureau of Customs (BOC) has formed a committee headed by Deputy Commissioner Atty. Juan Lorenzo Tañada to re-investigate the 1,910 container vans that went missing en route from the port of Batangas to Manila in May and June last year.

BOC Commisioner Ruffy Biazon said the National Bureau of Investigation was tasked to conduct the investigation, but the change of leadership in the agency has delayed it.

The BOC formed the committee just 2 days ago and is expected to issue subpoenas to at least 20 ranking officials and personnel about the incident.

The committee has a deadline to make a full report in 25 days.
