MANILA, Philippines – Three persons died in separate shooting incidents in Quezon City Sunday night.

One of the victims, tricycle driver Florencio Campo, was shot at close range by an unidentified assailant in Barangay Payatas at around 9 p.m.

Campo sustained a gunshot wound to his left cheek and right neck, according to Senior Police Officer 1 Eric Lazo of Quezon City Police District – Criminal Investigation and Detection Group.

Investigators are looking into the possibility that Campo knew his assailant.

In Barangay Batasan, meanwhile, two gunmen shot Erwin Alapad and his uncle Margarito Insao dead.

Police said the suspects only shot Insao after he tried to capture them for shooting his nephew.

Police have launched an investigation to determine the motives behind the shootings. – report from Jacque Manabat, dzMM
