Porsche-driving Customs clerk surfaces
MANILA, Philippines – The Bureau of Customs (BoC) clerk who is facing physical injury and attempted murder charges finally surfaced on Tuesday and faced Customs chief Rufino “Ruffy” Biazon.
Customs clerk Paulino Elevado, who is also facing a lifestyle check for driving a Porsche, had stopped reporting to work since his traffic altercation with a student last January 21.
Elevado claimed that he does not own the vehicle and was simply acting as an agent for the sale of the luxury sports car.
He said that after 20 years working at the Customs bureau, he still doesn't earn enough and has to augment his salary.
Elevado declared a buy-and-sell car business in his statement of assets, liabilities and Net worth (SALN).
“Pang extra income, P6,000 [ang income ko sa Customs],” he said.
He denied using his position to enrich himself, although he admitted that an extortion case was filed against him in 2011.
Biazon, however, was unsatisfied with Elevado's explanation and said their investigation will continue.
“Under floating status [si Elevado], suspended siya habang iniimbestigahan,” said Biazon.
Biazon also warned that they will investigate other Customs officials found to have questionable properties.
Elevado said he has no plans of resigning.
Meanwhile, President Benigno Aquino III slammed the continuing corruption at the agency, citing Elevado’s case.
“May ganang pang manuntok ng kababayan natin at hindi pa nakuntento, pinutukan pa. Taktak ng mentalidad na parang talagang angat siya sa lahat,” the President said during a speech at BoC's 110th anniversary. -- Reports from Anthony Taberna, ABS-CBN News; ANC

But he is just suspended and did not spend a single second in jail?
He was not even finger printed and a mugshot was not even taken?
This is real bullshit.
I now question the clean image of biazon,
after all he is the son of a former chief of staff general
and a former senator, and he himself is a former congressman. Prove the Filipino wrong by sending this guy to jail NOW and fire him with no benefits whatsoever.
What is there to investigate, he already admitted firing his fully loaded gun at the victims. If you don't, the Filipino people will certainly think you are in cahoots with all the corruption going on in the corrupt BOC.
They might be afraid this guy will squeal if he is sent to prison.

Custom chief, what are you waiting for? Sack the bastard and put him in JAIL. Corruption is rampant in Customs, as the chief, you should clean up your backyard, unless you yourself is corrupt too.
Lousy Protector
Authorities in this beloved country of ours are lousy protectors of ordinary Filipinos. They are very good protectors of oligarchs, high profile criminals, politicians, and other wealthy sectors of our society. It is a very sad, sad reality for us.

BoC = Buwaya of Customs madami sila diyan...yang si elevado ay butiki lang yan kompara sa mga mas malalaking buwaya na nakalungga diyan sa customs. 99% of all customs employees puro mayayaman yan na dapat sana ay ipa-lifestyle check para malaman kung paano sila naging mayaman.

Customs chief Rufino “Ruffy” Biazon please remove this abusive employee. The Bureau have already lots of abusive employees that have to be remove and his case, even though is not in his line of duty, should serve as an example to his co-workers.
