Traffic rerouting in Marikina set for 'Bourne' shoot
MANILA, Philippines – The city government of Marikina, through the City Traffic Management and Development Office (CTMDO), on Tuesday announced a traffic rerouting scheme to prepare for the filming of “The Bourne Legacy” from Wednesday to Friday.
Bonifacio Avenue will be closed to all vehicles going to Aurora Boulevard, Katipunan and Quezon City from 4 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday.
Motorists are advised to take J.P. Rizal St. going to Marcos Highway to reach Quezon City.
The shooting will then shift to the Marikina Public Market on Thursday and Friday. Traffic flow in this area is expected to return to normal because the scenes will be filmed indoors.
The city government will provide free rides from the Marikina Bridge to affected motorists heading to Barangay Jesus Dela Peña, Tañong, and Barangka.
Marikina Mayor Del De Guzman said the city government is grateful that Marikina was chosen as one of the venues of the filming.
"This will also give our city a chance to be featured in an international film," De Guzman said in a press statement.
“Through the ‘Bourne Legacy’ film shooting, we are hoping that people will see the beauty and cleanliness of Marikina and attract more tourists," he added.
