MANILA, Philippines – The operations of the Light Rail Transit (LRT) 2 were suspended at around 2 p.m. on Thursday due to technical problems.

According to LRT Authority spokesperson Atty. Hernando Cabrera, the operations were suspended because power supply was unstable.

The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines, meanwhile, said brownouts in Metro Manila and parts of Luzon on Thursday were caused by technical problems at the Sta. Rita and San Lorenzo power plants.

Train operations were later restored at the LRT 2 from Santolan to Recto. -- Report from Alvin Elchico, ABS-CBN News
