4 shot by riding-in-tandem in Pasay City
MANILA, Philippines – Four members of a Chinese family were injured when they were shot at by two riding-in-tandem suspects at the southbound lane of Andrews Avenue in Maricaban, Pasay City Saturday afternoon.
The victims were identified as 48-year-old businessman Minjiang Sy, also known as Willy Sy; his wife, Kim Sham Hong, 43; and their children, Jai Mae Hong, 20, and Wesley, 6.
Minjiang bore gunshot wounds to the chest and right arm while his wife was shot in the head and back. Both are being treated at intensive care unit (ICU) of San Juan de Dios Hospital.
The two children bore minor injuries to their heads.
The family had picked up their father from the airport and was on their way to Roxas Boulevard when the two suspects, riding a motorcycle, appeared. The suspects shot at their metallic brown Hyundai Elantra with plate number UQX 363.
Eight slugs of a caliber .45 gun were recovered from the scene.
