Friends say Daza’s BF depressed with break-up

MANILA, Philippines – The long-time boyfriend of former Congresswoman Nanette Castelo Daza seemed depressed with their break-up, according to some of the ex-couple’s friends at a tennis club in Quezon City.
The friends of Daza and Noel Orate Sr. at the Amoranto Tennis Club said the victim and the former lawmaker saw each other when they both attended another friend’s birthday celebration this month.
They claimed that Orate got drunk and was depressed from their break-up. They said Orate Sr. wanted Daza back. Orate, they said, had even expressed his wish to be shot to end his loneliness.
They, however, clarified that they are not siding with anyone since Daza and Orate are both their friends. They also had no personal knowledge of what transpired next after Orate left the tennis court in Amoranto.
Meanwhile, Orate’s son, Noel Jr., is not convinced and believed that the statements about his father were just fabricated to protect Daza.
Noel Jr. stressed that tennis club members were divided. He likewise challenged Daza to release the CCTV footage in her house to see what really happened on the night his father got killed.
Orate Sr. was shot 5 times by Daza’s son-in-law, Romeo Allan Robes, inside the lawmaker’s home in Teachers’ Village, Quezon City last February 10.
Robes is a board member of Bulacan province. He is married to the congresswoman’s daughter, QC Councilor Jessica Daza.
Robes’ lawyer claimed he acted in self-defense. The Dazas said Orate barged into their home drunk and armed and threatened to kill them if Daza did not take him back.
Orate's family, however, insisted it was the victim who broke off with Daza, and that it was Daza who wanted to reconcile with him.
The camp of Orate has filed a motion to defer arraignment to elevate the crime to murder. They also appealed to the court to issue a hold departure order against Robes who is currently out on bail.

Noel orate sr. killed my father last march 24, 1993, noel orate jr. was the one who handed the gun to to his father and shot my father 5 time ending his life. my siblings (all four of us) were there to see it. and Noel orate's three children noelyn , rambo (noel jr.) and baby and the wife were there to witness this as well... his children then were studying in a private school here in zamboanga city. they fled the city for some reason have evaded capture... a warrant of arrest issued by court in zamboanga but apparently it was not served... my mother wrote united laboratories about such incident and begged the company to turn him over or at least inform the authorities of his whereabouts but this fell on deaf ears... we were surprised when we found out that he was even promoted by unilab... we were all adolescents then when this happened. my mom was studying in UP for her doctorate degree... the one who was with us at the time my father was killed was my grandmother (my father's mother).... he shot my father during his birthday...we learned that my dad was the second person he killed... tonight everything came into full circle...my father was killed because he could not bear the wife then of noel orate ( a certain linda) who was beating up his second child noelyn which was a common occurrence in their household... we were their next door neighbour here in zamboanga. food for thought to all concern. it is best you dig deeper... you may be surprised to learn that there may yet be things yet to be uncovered. to my papang the Lord works in mysterious ways indeed. finally my family can have closure... to my pa you can now truly find rest with the Lord...things finally came in full circle... your killer died in the same manner he killed you, shot in the chest five times...
