MANILA, Philippines – The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) said visiting hours in jail will be extended today in celebration of Valentine’s Day.

BJMP Director Rosendo Dial said the original 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. visiting schedule has been extended by 3 hours, allowing inmates to spend more time with their loved ones.

Dial, however, said the extension does not apply to all facilities.

Couples, who are both inmates, will be given time to spend Valentine’s Day together, according to Dial.

Dial said security will be tightened to prevent any untoward incident in these detention facilities. – report from Dennis Datu, dzMM
