MANILA, Philippines – A man died in a motorcycle accident in Quezon City on Monday night.

Christian Cando, 27, died after he was run over by a 10-wheeler truck along EDSA-Balintawak.

The truck driver, identified as Danilo Caudina, surrendered to the authorities after the incident.

Caudina said he was not able to avoid the motorcycle, which slid on the wet road.

Caudina said the speeding motorcycle fell on its side after it tried to overtake his truck.

“Pagkasemplang niya, kaso nga lang hindi na kinaya ng preno, iniligan ko na lang po siya. Kaso inabot pa rin ng gulong ko sa likod,” Caudina said.

Authorities also found out that Caudina was not using the designated lane for motorcycles along EDSA. – report from Raffy Santos, ABS-CBN News
